- At Flag Pulse, we are deeply committed to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in all our content. Our dedication to accuracy is the cornerstone of our reputation and the trust we build with our audience. We approach every claim with skepticism, question assumptions, and challenge conventional wisdom.
- Our commitment to accuracy is absolute, and it must be appropriate to the nature and content of our output. We explicitly acknowledge any constraints that might affect the expectations of accuracy.
- We rigorously source and corroborate all our content, ensuring that it is based on available evidence. We strive for honesty and transparency about any unknowns and avoid engaging in unfounded speculation.
- Our journalists never engage in deliberate plagiarism, distort facts, or manipulate context, including visual information.
- When reporting claims, information, or allegations, especially those from public officials or those with particular agendas, we seek independent verification from reliable sources. Claims, allegations, and material facts that cannot be corroborate will be attributed accordingly.
- Flagpulse stands behind the accuracy of the information we publish. If errors are discovered, we promptly correct them. We do not knowingly mislead our audience or distort facts that could erode their trust in our content. We openly acknowledge and rectify serious factual errors with promptness, clarity, and appropriateness.
- We provide a platform for the public to report inaccuracies or errors in our reporting through the contact us page.
- Our journalists’ primary responsibility includes reporting, writing, and fact-checking stories. Stories undergo review by one or more editors. We maintain a multi-level fact-checking system for stories requiring due diligence, with the level of seniority of reviewing editors depending on various factors like complexity, sensitivity, and time constraints.
Correction Policies
While Flagpulse.com is committed to excellence and accuracy, we recognize that errors can occasionally occur. In such cases, we take responsibility for rectifying the error and prioritize transparency to ensure that incorrect information is corrected and does not propagate further.
For Readers:
If a reader identifies an error, they should immediately contact us. When submitting corrections via email, readers should include the error, issue date or number, where the error was noticed (in print, online, etc.), the reader’s name, and contact information (phone number or email address). Readers should also provide the correct information and a source for where they found that information, if applicable. For example, if a Student Senate vote tally was incorrect, please provide the minutes from that meeting.
The reader can expect a response from the Editor-in-Chief and may be contacted further if clarification is needed or more information is required. Please note that a correction submission guarantees that the error will be investigated but not necessarily that a correction will be issued.
For Flagpulse.com:
Once the Editor-in-Chief is informed of an error, they will investigate it using the information provided by the reader, meeting minutes, reporter’s recordings, and any other available sources of information.
If an error is identified, the Editor-in-Chief will issue a correction in all forms where the incorrect information was disseminated:
Print: Corrections will be published on page 2A in the next available issue. The correction will specify the issue, article, the incorrect information, and the correction.
Flagpulse.com: The article will be corrected, and an editor’s note will be added at the bottom of the article, explaining what was incorrect and when the correction was made.
Social Media: If the article was posted on social media platforms controlled by Flagpulse.com, a post will be made, linking to the corrected article and noting the correction.
Once the correction is made, the Editor-in-Chief will contact the reader who submitted the correction, informing them of the steps taken to rectify the error
