North Las Vegas, NV — A quiet neighborhood in North Las Vegas was shaken Monday night as police responded to a horrific scene involving the fatal stabbing of a woman. Authorities are now urgently searching for a suspect believed to be connected to the brutal incident.
The North Las Vegas Police Department (NLVPD) reported receiving emergency calls shortly before 8:00 p.m. regarding a possible assault in the 3600 block of Brentcove Drive. The area, located near Gowan Road and Martin Luther King Boulevard, is typically known for its residential calm, making the violent nature of the crime all the more unsettling for residents.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. Despite immediate efforts from responding officers and emergency medical teams to render aid, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
The suspect had reportedly fled the area before law enforcement arrived, and as of Tuesday morning, has not been apprehended. Police have not disclosed whether the victim and suspect were known to one another, nor have they commented on a possible motive behind the attack.
“We are working diligently to gather information and locate the person responsible,” said a spokesperson for the NLVPD. “This is an active investigation, and we are urging the public to come forward with any tips or observations from the area around the time of the incident.”
Neighbors in the area expressed shock and fear in light of the tragedy. One resident who asked not to be identified told reporters, “This is a quiet street. We never see police here, let alone something like this. I just hope they find whoever did this.”
The police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the North Las Vegas Police Department at 702-633-9111. Those who wish to remain anonymous can reach out to Crime Stoppers of Nevada at 702-385-5555 or submit tips through their website.
